Two-stepping, Live Music and Chili for a Good Cause
.(Austin, Texas) Jan. 25, 2012 — Jo’s Hot Coffee Good Food hosts the 6th Annual Chili Cold Blood Chili Cook-Off, Two Steppin’ Competition and Benefit on Feb. 4 from 11 am to 3 pm in the Jo’s parking lot on South Congress Ave. The event is sponsored by Shiner and all proceeds benefit the Lila Tenenbown Recovery Fund.
Featured bands performing include Li’l Cap’n Travis, Chili Cold Blood, Chaparral and Woodsboss. Free two-stepping lessons at 11 am, dance contest at 12 pm, live music and chili tasting from 11 to 3. Winners announced at 3 pm for 1st and 2nd Place Chili, People’s Choice Award and Best Showmanship, with prizes including free nights at Hotel San Jose and Hotel Havana, bar tabs at the Hotel San Jose lounge, cases of Shiner beer, Central Market gift baskets, trophies and more. The event will also include a bake sale by Katy Cupcakes and a silent auction. Chili tasting tickets are $20 each and are available at the event.

(AUSTIN, Texas – January 2012) Country music stars Jack Ingram and Hayes Carll will be coheadlining at this year’s Grounded in Music 2012 Benefit Concert to raise funds for the organization’s music education program. This year’s event will be held at the Gibson Guitar Showroom in Austin on Wednesday, February 15 and doors will open at 6:30 p.m., kicking off with a performance by Grounded in Music students. The event is open to the public, and prior to the show, there will be a reception for all sponsors and pre-party ticket holders. Immediately following the concert, an after-party with Jack Ingram and Hayes Carll will be held for event sponsors.

The oldest kid rock camp in Austin has re-opened under the tutelage of new owner John Moyer (Union Underground, Disturbed). John has taught at the school since 1998, in-between touring the world as the bass player for the multi-platinum metal band Disturbed, which is currently on hiatus. The camp, which has a unique approach to music instruction, is located at the newly-renovated Music Lab, 1306 W. Oltorf in Austin TX.
